What happens in the very region where cold and relatively dry air and very warm and moist air meet is important for weather forecasting.
Constant rain will fall as pressure continues to fall.
Towering cumulonimbus clouds develop as the cold front passes. The heavy rain stops when the cumulonimbus clouds move away and the pressure begins to rise again. A few showers may drop from small cumulus clouds, but the weather is generally cold and clear behind the cold front.
